JULY 18th

Seems like only just yesterday I was posting. So yesterday was a whirlwind of things. We had our culture day. What is culture day? It's all the villages and PCT get together with staff and have a sort of talent show with food. My village did a Uyghur dance. I got to wear pink sequences. I will post this when I can, and maybe even with some video. SOOO much fun. There was some amazing dancing, I also got to help the Uyghur women make handmade noodles for lagman, and some other kind of noodle. Uyghurs ROCK! The Kurds had a really cool dance...We don't see so many of those around here.  I also helped my Turkish family with the food.  After the giant celebration, some PCTs had some пева(beer) and then headed home. The second I got home I was Dragged to a Turkish wedding down the street.  I ate a couple courses of food before I just had to leave. My little sister and some other Turkish chick that lives on my street that I know brought me in to see the bride. kinda weird. Apparently she does the wholel ceremony with her eyes clothes, and then there is some knife dance the husband performs...I don't know I had to sleep.

today I am preparing my lesson plans for my class on Tuesday, and working on some Russian...Actually IM procrastinating. I hope all is well in the states, and still look everyday for some mail. If anyone decides to send some, ----

I really would love DVD's...Mp3s on CD (especially American POP) movie magazines/pop (ex. us, people) (for school) paper, a umbrella, an American to  European adaptor plug, floppy disks, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, colored markers

I sometimes wonder what is more dangerous ...getting hit by a car, horse or cow... All are likely, everyday here. On my walk to school I hear various things...Dogs barking, cows moons, chickens, turkeys, donkeys and birds. My family dog "BIM" follows me everywhere, even followed me onto the автобус (bus pronounce aftoboc) and followed me into school.

well I should really do work. I will find out where I will be July 31st. I am hoping for the mtns (everyone is) and I really want to be in the east, IM most interested in that culture.

пока! (later! Pronounce paka)

Hey Jen,
Sounds like you are having a good time. What's the weather like there this time of year? Is it real hot?

I need your address again. I can burn you some pop CD's no prob. You know me and that cheesy pop stuff. My ipod is full of it.

Everything is alright with me. Unfortuantely Jen's nana passed away last week. It's been real tough on Jen, because they were so close. It's weird that we aren't going to be venturing to inman square once a week for some tasty nana food.

So now we are contemplating our next move. We are thinking LA. Jen has some contacts out there for her music, and my little bro is moving there so before we settle down and buy a house / condo we are thinking we will move and see what happens. LA isn't really my kind of city but I have never lived anywhere else besides MA, so i will be psyched to experience something new.

Alfie is getting huge. Well if 9 lbs constitutes as huge. He will only be like 13 lbs when fully grown. Can you post pictures on this site?

Ok back to designing crappy DNC maps. I can't wait til next week is over. Working at a news station when this thing is going on SUCKS!

talk to you later,
Ang

Well hello there sista!!

I have been busy, which i know you hear from me way too much, so I probably haven't been as busy I even I think. I finished up soccer camp last week, I had 18 6th grade girls by myself. It was quite a week, tears were shed, girls calling each other bitches, yeah what 18 girls do when they are together for that amount of time. It was all good at the end and I even got paid.

This week I am taking a grad class up at Plymouth State University, a one week wonder, and will get two credits. Not bad for a week's worth of work. I have NOT been going to the gym and I actually just came back from going to a buffet with Ken Pfitz (Deb is in Nova Scotia at the present time with Cassie, Ken leaves on Friday) Mom and dad are preparing to go to DC and will actually have a luncheon with Mrs. Laura Bush, should be interesting.

I still love my condo and Jara is good, hard to believe she is now 11!! I am proud of myself i kept her alive this whole time. Mom and dad miss her. I still miss you, especially when a 80's song comes on and I want to call you to tell you what a geek I really am, still living in the 80's.

I haven't sent any mail yet, again I will try this weekend. I am glad that you put a list on your last post, that will help me, do you want any stickers?? my students go berserk with them, maybe your students will as well.

Weather has been below the regular temps, i am not complaining, a lot more rain then usual summers. Anything else you want?

Ok, what did I do with the money I made last week? I spent over $100 on wine and also bought myself the 3rd season of Sex and the City, so basically when I am bored I drink a bottle of wine and watch my DVD of this.....what a life I lead!! Someday my prince will come.......

Take care, I miss you NEJ!! (Jara too!)
Linda
