im in
hello;I've now been in kazakhstan for a whole 4 days. I had training in Issyk. I am now living with my host family in a small village of koktobe. My family is Turish, muslims. My host momma is single. she only 35 and has two kids, 11 year old girl and a 14 year old boy. We dont have running water but we have a bath tub and a bucket to clean....a out house out back, but do have a tv, and a phone. The little girl is my new best friend, helping with my terrible russian. Communication is difficult. Food is kinda crazy, yesterday i did tour of 5 other PCT in the village, all different cultures. Ate food at every house...lots of Plof (rice pilaff with spices and bits of meat) TONS of Chai.
My lunch again was huge that was packed for me...they eat BIG here. I am at the PCT center right now. and others are waiting to use the computer so please dont mind the wildness of my writing. The mtns here are amazing. Kazakhstan is something that i really could never describe. I dont know if many that wish to visit could really 'handle' it. people drive REALLY really crazy fast, there are no rule for the road. In my village there are cows and dogs, chickens roaming freely everywhere. Not uncommon to see a man riding his horse down the side of the road or a mule pulling a carrage. On our tour yesterday to the other PCT homes we collected about 30+ audience on the bank.
thats all for now i need to go.
